First responders were dispatched to the Scarsdale Ridge condominium complex on Thursday afternoon when a motorist drove a car into one of the buildings.
Members of the Greenville Fire Department, local police and paramedics were all dispatched to the Central Avenue condo complex at approximately 2:30 p.m., following reports of a driver in an SUV who had driven into and through the brick facade of the building.
Greenburgh Town Supervisor Paul Feiner said that an elderly driver confused the pedals and struck the building at approximately 30 mph. The driver and his female passenger were both treated for minor injuries.
Feiner said the Greenburgh Technical Rescue Team is at the scene with police and fire personnel attempting to shore up the building before the vehicle can be removed and damage can be assessed. The building has been evacuated and utilities are turned off. No timetable has been announced for when residents can return to the building as crews assess the damage done to the structure.
